Over the years, I’ve realized that baking is more than just recipes and techniques—it’s a whole journey.

A mirror of the lessons we live, the doubts we overcome, and the joy we create (and share).

Here’s what the kitchen has taught me:

1️⃣ 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲.

Whether it’s mastering a technique or building a business, nothing great happens overnight.

2️⃣ 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

In pastry—and in life—it often knows the way before your brain does.

3️⃣ 𝗜𝗳 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝘁... 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘁.

I didn’t find my dream job—I built it from scratch (just like a pâte sucrée 😉).

4️⃣ 𝗔 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵.

Looks matter, yes—but it’s what’s inside that keeps people coming back.

5️⃣ 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗜 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱.

Stressful? A bit. Fulfilling? A LOT.

6️⃣ 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵.

There’s real joy in seeing someone light up with the first bite.

7️⃣ 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝘆.

Sometimes things don’t go to plan. Pivoting with grace is part of the job—and life.
